I am the author of 14 cookbooks. While most of them do talk about seasonal cooking and have recipes from all over the world, one will notice that the French cuisine influence is much more obvious.
Enchanté. My name is Cygne Meiran, and although I was born in Latvia, my heart has always belonged to France and the French culture, so now, living in Lyon and pretending to speak French, I like to call myself Lyonnaise admiring French cuisine and joie de vivre daily.
I am the author of 14 cookbooks. While most of them talk about seasonal cooking and have recipes from all over the world, one will notice that the influence of French cuisine is undeniable. Much more than that of any other country. I can also proudly say that while most of the books are about general cooking, three of them are much more special, as those are the books where we collected Heritage Recipes from 24 grandparents all over the country, and one was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Latvia, collecting 100 cake recipes from Latvian families all over the world, including from our former president Vaira Vike-Freiberga.
And then there is the 14th book. A 100% French cookbook in partnership with my beloved cognac brand Maison Courvoisier, not only describing the French cuisine but also the regional cuisine of the Charente Maritime region, pairing wine with food, cognac with desserts, and cocktails with everything else (published 21 March 2024).
I am a former owner of a food and gourmet magazine, as well as an ambassador to various food and beverage brands from all over the world. Brands that I love, appreciate, and prefer even when I do not work as an ambassador. I enjoy taking pictures of food and places, as well as capturing moments while travelling. I am the photo author of the last four of my books, my website, and my Instagram account.
I am lucky to say that my lifestyle and my hobby are what I call my work and vice versa, as there is no greater joy for me than to cook, serve, and share food, discovering products, wines, and places that evolve around food. Be it Lyon, Paris, France, or any other part of the world. This website is dedicated to everyone who likes to cook, eat, drink, and travel and who believes in eating seasonal and sustainable food according to the seasons around us. To every person who respects what is on the plate and how it is prepared, who likes to enjoy a bit of everything, starting from vegetables to fish, meat, and a slice of good cake, as well as a glass of delicious wine and cognac.
I love vintage plates, cutlery, and furniture. I like to celebrate. To enjoy. To experiment. To bake and cook.
