Couronnes a l'anis

Couronnes a l'anis

Although it comes from Catalonia, Couronne a l'anis is a very beloved treat in the South of France, especially closer to the border. The anise crown (in translation) is a medium-sized semi-soft cookie made from flour, sugar, eggs, milk, and a generous but no overpowering dose of anis. It is nothing but a simple cookie, yet, with its distinctive taste, it can be served only to those in a very intimate relationship with anis. Perfect with a cup of coffee and tea, even better, yet knowing which dessert wine to pair it with is a good dessert, too.
