Atelier Rebul

We checked in when, at the reception of Maison Zugno, beautifully packaged products from Atelier Rebul were looking right at us. An unknown brand to me. They caught my eye right away, and when leaving, I pretended that my shower gel was almost empty (it was not the case), so I bought one, enjoying every shower moment even more now, while the previous one stands abandoned in the cupboard to be used later.

In 1895, a young man, Jean César Reboul, fell in love with Istanbul’s blend of traditional mysticism and modern dynamism, and sometime later, in Beyoğlu, he opened Grande Pharmacie Parisienne. He was uncompromising in many ways, and one of those compromises he was not willing to make was the French language, and every intern willing to work at the pharmacy simply had to speak French.

At that time, a young man named Kemal Derrişoğlu wanted to learn from a master like Mr Reboul, but lacking French language knowledge, he took French classes in 1920 and sometime later started his apprenticeship. Who would have known back then that 16 years later, they would become partners, striving to marry classic with innovation? And who would have known that two years later, Mr Reboul would create the legendary cologne from his garden’s lavender that became one of the most iconic products there are. Yet, in 1938, Reboul decided to return to France and leave the pharmacy to Kemal, still standing there.

Time passed, and it took 43 years to receive a gold medal for this outstanding product from the International Beauty Products Quality Control Centre. From that moment on, the company has been operating, delivering the highest quality products inspired by over a 100-year history and dedication, mixing the best from nature and pharmacology, and finding natural solutions for various needs.

Produced without parabens, mineral oil, and phthalates.
